A prize-winning ensemble, comprised of Melbourne based musicians - Antony Field (ex Saffire), Ben Dix, Jeremy Tottenham, and Peter Karutz. Formed in 2005 by graduates of the Victorian College of the Arts, the quartet won first prize in the VCA Athenaeum Chamber Music Competition and played to sell out audiences in tours of regional Victoria and NSW.

Quartet

The program will feature new arrangements of works by J.S. Bach, Nigel Westlake and Piazzolla as well as original music by Francis Kleynjans and Robert Davidson, who described the quartet's recording of his Coonowrin as "one of the best recordings of any of my pieces".

It has since performed at the Darwin International Guitar Festival and major concert venues. In 2008 the quartet won the 'Cone of Silence' award for most popular act in Melbourne's Quiet Music Festival.
In line with its founding philosophy of enhancing the guitar's stature by expanding its ensemble repertoire, the quartet's critically acclaimed debut album, Four Elements, features arrangements by group members of works by Pizazzolla and Bill Whelan's Riverdance. The Actors' Forum: Arms and the Man by George Bernard Shaw

Performers: Michael Booth, Zoe Carides, Annie Maynard, Stephen Pease, Cecily Polson, Nicholas Papademetriou, Annie Maynard & Peter Talmacs.

Directed by David Baldwin

In July, the Actors' Forum bids welcome to one of the great constant successes of the English Stage. In this hugely 'pleasant' Shaw play, the author satirises our romantic ideas about war and marriage. Stiff and noble in their frightfully upper-class Balkans home, the Petkoffs await the return of their noble warrior men to plan the marriage of lovelorn Raina to heroic Sergus; but then Bluntschli, a Swiss mercenary who carries chocolates rather than bullets and won't put up with nonsense, takes refuge in Raina's bedroom. A compromising note is left in the pocket of an old housecoat. The romp procees...... This play replaces the Neil Simon play, I Ought to be in Pictures, which was originally scheduled for July.

The Actors' Forum: Soulmates

Directed by David Baldwin

Australia’s most popular playwright is definitely at home in this comedic tilt at the idea of writing popular, money-making page turners, requires less skill than serious ‘elitist’ literature. When Melbourne Age book reviewer Danny O’Loughlin writes two scathing pieces on expatriate novelist Katie Best, she devises a plan of revenge worthy of a plot of one of her own novels. She sets up a situation that threatens the survival of Danny’s marriage to a woman who is an ardent fan of Katie’s. But revenge can backfire and truth can prove stranger than fiction.
